A Sweet Slice of Heaven

“The Best Cinnamon Rolls this side of Eternity”

Hot, Fresh Cinnamon Rolls

A Sweet Slice of Heaven was born of necessity. Ten years ago my husband, David, had three heart attacks, then had a mini stroke. These events changed the dynamic of my life forever. David was always the bread winner, and I had been a stay home mom since I graduated high school, and that’s the way I loved it. However, David’s health slowly headed downhill, which left me to earn the money for our family. I went to work at a world famous retail store and worked my way up from overnight person to department manager. I was making good money, yet our family was suffering terribly. I was never home, and in turn, the house was falling apart. Something had to give.

We ended having to leave our home in Texas and move back to Kansas where my husbands family was from. They were willing to help us get back on our feet. I went back to work in retail and ended up with three herniated disks in my back, spurs on my spine, and Fibromyalgia. Things were looking bleak. However, God knew what he was doing by bringing us to Kansas.

I was always baking goodies as a thank-you or for family get-togethers. Everyone loved my food and begged for the recipes. My friends told me to try and make money cooking since I was so good at it; I took them up on their suggestion. I spent the last bit of money we had and baked everything I knew to bake, rented a booth, and even made some crafts to sell as well. Needless to say it was a disaster! I didn’t sell anything, and ended the weekend in tears. God had other plans.

A couple of months later, after I had applied for about a million jobs, my brother-in-law told me he was going to help me get my bakery off the ground; and he did.

He agreed to order 25 of my Cinnamon Rolls every Wednesday and sell them at his place of business. His customers loved them and the next thing I knew people were calling me left and right. I then sent out an email to all my friends letting them know I’d be making my famous Cinnamon Rolls on Wednesdays. I began to get orders left and right. It is such a blessing to do what I love; bake and be at home with my kids.

I am grateful to God, to my husband David, to my brother-in-law Mark, and to all my customers. Thanks for making a dream come true.
